Olympique de Marseille are on the verge of signing Anderlecht right-back Michael Murillo (27), according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Panama international is set to leave the Jupiler Pro League side for the Ligue 1 outfit after both clubs reached an agreement on a permanent move. Romano understands that Murillo has also agreed personal terms with Les Phocéens. Anderlecht’s versatile defender has logged six goals and five assists in 45 games played with Anderlecht this past campaign. He was part of the team that went all the way to the Europa Conference League’s quarter-finals.
Marseille were in the market for a right-back with a view to compete with France international Jonathan Clauss. Les Phocéens are conducting a near-complete squad overhaul this summer. Murillo would be the seventh signing of the Marcelino era at the Vélodrome following the arrivals of midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, left-back Renan Lodi and strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Iliman N’Diaye, Ismaïla Sarr and Joaquín Correa.
