Aston Villa faced off against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground earlier today as they hoped to earn a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Villans made a slow start to the contest and conceded the opening goal in the fifth minute when Ola Aina found the back of the net. Unai Emery’s men failed to make a comeback and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

The West Midlands club conceded their second goal in the 47th minute when Orel Mangala got his name on the scoresheet. The Villans ended up crashing to a lackluster 2-0 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Aston Villa player fared during the clash against Nottingham Forest.

GK: Emiliano Martinez – 5/10

The Argentine keeper made one good save in the game but conceded two poor goals tonight. He should have done better to prevent Mangala’s goal.

RB: Matty Cash – 6.5/10

He earned the ball back once and made one good chance going forward.

CB: Ezri Konsa – 6.5/10

Konsa made a couple of crucial interceptions at the back and was good on the ball.

CB: Pau Torres – 6/10

The Spaniard made some last-gasp clearances but it wasn’t enough today.
