Matheus Uribe has credited manager Reinaldo Rueda with building “trust” within the Colombia squad.

The 64-year-old began his second stint in charge of Los Cafeteros in January.

While a new face to most of the squad, Uribe had experience of working under Redua at Atlético Nacional in 2016/17.

“The teacher has been…a respectful person and has treated us all equally,” the Porto midfielder said, per MARCA Claro.

“That gives you confidence and peace of mind to speak and engage in conversation with the teacher regarding any issue.

“This trust is important for the group to have that empathy and harmony with him, who is the head of us.”

Colombia have qualified for the quarter-finals of this year’s Copa América in Brazil.

They must wait for the conclusion of Group A on Monday to see if they face Paraguay or Uruguay in Brasília next Saturday.
