Mats Hummels may witness his revival at Roma as a result of Claudio Ranieri’s arrival.
The veteran technician seems intent on making Hummels the defensive leader of the team, relying on his experience and veteran presence.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ranieri has already tried Hummels in a 3-man backline over the course of recent training sessions.
The German could start in the upcoming match with Napoli on 24 November, alongside Gianluca Mancini and Evan Ndicka.
Hummels would start in the middle of the defense, with Angelino no longer asked to play as a centreback; something Ranieri specifically mentioned in his introductory press conference.
