Megan Rapinoe inspires USA to back-to-back SheBelieves Cup titles 🏆 | OneFootball

The final round of SheBelieves Cup action wrapped up on 24 February with the title staying in the United States.

Brazil finishes second, Canada third and Argentina fourth.

USA 6-0 Argentina

The United States complete their 2021 SheBelieves Cup campaign with a perfect record and become the first team in history to win back-to-back titles.

After Brazil’s earlier win, the final match of the tournament was a title decider and the United States needed at least a draw to hold onto their trophy.

In the end, a comfortable 6-0 win over Argentina earned the top-ranked Americans a historic victory.

The hosts had complete control over the match putting four goals away in the first half.

Megan Rapinoe scored in the 16th minute and hit her second 10 minutes later. Carli Lloyd then added the third and Kirstie Mewis hit the fourth.

With the brace, Rapinoe is now the top goalscorer in SheBelieves Cup history. Rose Lavelle was named tournament MVP.

In the second half, Argentina played with tighter defence to try and kept the deficit down but Alex Morgan and Christen press added the fifth and sixth goals.

As a result, Argentina finished with three losses and the United States come out on top with a perfect record.

Canada 0-2 Brazil

Brazil’s comfortable 2-0 win over Canada sees them finish second in the SheBelieves Cup.

It was a lively contest in the first half but Brazil showed their quality against the Canadians.

A poor pass from Jade Rose resulted in Brazil grabbing possession. Adriana’s shot rolled across the goal, bounced off the far post and was poked home by Debinha.

Another defensive scramble led to the second goal. Canada couldn’t clear the ball out of the box and Julia Bianchi made no mistake.

Coming into the second half, the Canadians couldn’t find a way to put the ball in the back of the net. One chance was even cleared off the line.

As a result, Brazil finished with two wins and one loss whereas Canada ended with one win and two losses.
