In a surprising and unexpected revelation, the Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) have announced that they have opened an investigation against Chivas defender, Miguel Ponce.
On Thursday, upon Chivas’ arrival at the airport, the club, especially Ponce, had been provoked by fans before Ponce himself became involved in an altercation involving another individual.
Though Ponce apologised to fans on social media, the FMF will look to sanction the player, with penalties ranging from a fine to a one-match suspension.
Fortunately for Chivas, Ponce’s reaction was no more than a push before he and the club continued on directly to the hotel to prepare for Friday’s clash with Xolos.
Ponce has started and went the full 90 minutes in five of Chivas’ six Liga MX clashes this season.
