Borussia Dortmund has announced that Mike Tullberg will be the interim head coach for Borussia Dortmund for their game against Werder Bremen over the weekend.
Tullberg is the head coach of Dortmund’s under-19 team and will be in charge for their next game. This implies that Dortmund could potentially have a new head coach lined up for their final game in the Champions League next Wednesday.
The Danish youth coach has only managed at youth level, apart from a spell at Dortmund’s second team when they were in the Regionalliga West.
This all comes after Dortmund sacked Nuri Şahin as head coach this morning following a run of four straight defeats including their 2-1 loss to Bologna on Tuesday evening.
Edin Terzic was the last interim in charge at Dortmund having taken charge of the team following the sacking of Lucien Favre in 2020. During his spell in charge, he led the side to a DFB Pokal triumph where they beat RB Leipzig in the final.
