Milan are set for a face-to-face meeting with Dane Rashford, Marcus’ brother and agent, who’s gauging the offers for the Manchester United wantaway. He’ll be in Italy on Wednesday, The Athletic and Calciomercato reports.
The forward will most likely leave in January and is attracting plenty of suitors. Borussia Dortmund tabled the first formal proposal. He has been offered to Juventus as well. The Bianconeri have been searching for a marksman, though.
Milan are more flexible in that regard and will explore the terms to onboard Rashford directly. They are ready to tender a loan with an option to buy, Gianluca Di Marzio informs. The percentage of the wages covered by the Red Devils and whether the attacker could give up something on that front in the future will be key elements of the negotiation.
The 27-year-old has posted 7 goals and 3 assists in 24 matches this campaign. He hasn’t played in the last six tilts due to issues with new coach Ruben Amorim and an illness. He has hit the net 138 times and provided 63 assists in 426 matches at Old Trafford.
Perhaps he and Sergio Conceiçao are versatile enough and the prospect of a high-profile signing is too juicy to pass to not make it a problem, but he’d overlap with their stars. His large wages and high valuation, albeit not with a straightforward formula, make him a long-shot target for the Rossoneri. Still, it doesn’t hurt to try and poke around. It’d be stunning if they settled for a temporary spell. The amount of the clause to redeem him will be a sticking point.
