Simon Kjær has caused more worry in Milan‘s dressing room as the Denmark defender is reportedly carrying a knock.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Simon Kjær hurt his ankle in Denmark’s 2-1 defeat to Croatia. Danish manager Kasper Hjulmand confirmed:
“Kjaer felt a slight pain in his ankle. So, he will have to be evaluated. We will not send him home now. The idea for him is to stay here with us.”
Being one of the most fundamental figures for the Danish national team, Kjær started Denmark’s penultimate game in the ongoing UEFA Nations League group-stage matches.
Given that a win would’ve seen them occupy the top spot in their respective group and clinch an opportunity to play the semi-finals, Denmark put in their all to salvage something positive but couldn’t manage to do so by the end of the match. Denmark host France in their last game Nations League group-stage fixture on Sunday.
As for Milan, the injury crisis has begun to bear consequences, with the Rossoneri having already lost first-team players such as Theo Hernández, Mike Maignan, and Sandro Tonali to injuries. Although Kjær’s injury appears to be nothing serious, Milan would like to wait to understand the severity of the issue.
