Kevin Zeroli’s brace wasn’t enough for Milan Futuro to pick up three points against Sestri Levante on home soil. The Rossoneri took the lead twice - first via a header and then from the penalty spot - through their captain, only for Durmush and Parravicini to twice bring the visitors level on matchday 16 in Serie C. Coach Bonera’s side took to the pitch with real aggression, taking the lead with less than four minutes on the clock. Then, after some indecisive defending led to an equaliser, the Rossoneri responded as a team to take a lead into the break, after which fatigue set in during the second half.
At the Chinetti, it was clear that Milan Futuro’s Thursday night excursions had an impact, with the visitors starting to gain ground after the restart and finding the net again shortly after the hour mark. In the closing stages, Torriani was needed between the sticks to prevent the away side from finding a winner. There is a bit of regret given the importance of the game - the Rossoneri and Sestri Levante sit level on twelve points in Group B - but there are also plenty of positives to take from the match, starting with Zeroli’s first brace. Now, attentions will turn to the next one: on Sunday 1 December, an away match against Ternana awaits.

MATCH REPORT Milan Futuro made a bright start, taking the lead in under four minutes: Traorè sent in a free-kick for Zeroli, who headed home from inside the six-yard box. Two minutes later, Clemenza’s left-footed strike from an excellent position was saved by Torriani. The visitors equalised on the half-hour mark: Coubis was robbed of the ball by Durmush, who escaped the attentions of the outrushing Torriani and fired home. The Rossoneri responded with a 32nd-minute effort from Jiménez from just outside the box, while Anacoura raced off his line to foil Hodzic in the 36th minute. Two minutes later: Milan Futuro restored their lead: a shot from Vosos was handled by an opposition defender inside the box, and Zeroli sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from twelve yards out. 2-1 at the break.
Milan Futuro’s approach was more cautious at the start of the second half, while Sestri Levante were pushing further up the pitch as they searched for an equaliser. This is exactly what they got in the 63rd minute, when Parravicini headed home a cross from Furno. The game then evened out somewhat, with both sides looking slightly tired. In the 86th minute, Torriani was in place to push a powerful left-footed attempt by Rosetti over the bar. At the other end, Longo shot narrowly over with his right foot after 88 minutes. Torriani thwarted Rosetti again in the 89th minute, while Conti then struck the bar from close range just before the match entered stoppage time. It finished 2-2.
