Multiple sources claim Milan won’t sack Sergio Conceiçao for now, but club legend Mauro Tassotti could replace the Portuguese tactician in the final part of the season ‘if the situation were to deteriorate.’
Milan have lost three consecutive Serie A games, and Sunday’s home loss to Lazio saw them slip to ninth place, nine points below the Biancocelesti in fourth.
Multiple reputable sources in Italy, including Sky Sport Italia and Corriere della Sera, claim the Milan management is not considering sacking Conceiçao, although the coach’s position isn’t safe anyway.

Corriere della Sera adds that Conceiçao clearly remains under scrutiny as the team hasn’t shown any improvement under his guidance.
According to the report, club legend Tassotti, a former player and Carlo Ancelotti’s ex-assistant at San Siro, is the leading candidate to become the caretaker coach until the end of the season ‘if the situation were to deteriorate.’
Tassotti is already at the club, serving as Massimo Oddo’s assistant at Milan Futuro, the Rossoneri’s second team.
Conceiçao is contracted with Milan until 2026, but the club has an option to terminate the agreement at the end of the season.
Since replacing Paulo Fonseca in December 2024, the Portuguese coach has won eight games from 17, drawn three, and lost six.
