Milan will likely shake up their defense in the summer, also for economic reasons, and have two players in their crosshairs to compensate for the potential exits: Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera and Leicester City’s Caleb Okoli, TuttoSport informs (via OneFootball).
The former has been a routine target for the Rossoneri and has also been linked to Juventus. Los Che drove a hard bargain in the past. However, his deal is up in 2026, and he has no intention of renewing it. He has starred in 77 La Liga matches, scoring once. He has 5 caps with Spain U-21 under his belt.
Milan could take advantage of the favorable circumstances for Mosquera, given his contractual situation, and Okoli, as his side has been relegated to the Championship. The latter could be on the move despite transferring for €14M last year. He has featured 22 times across all competitions.
The Atalanta product previously cut his teeth on loan at SPAL, Cremonese, and Frosinone. His agent Alessandro Barison alluded to his departure talking to Tuttomercatoweb.
“Several clubs targeted him during the winter, but coach Ruud Van Nistelrooy and the management informed him that he wasn’t for sale. Three or four Italian teams and two English ones wanted him. As for Bologna and the Rossoneri, if these rumours circulate, there must be something true to them.”
They’ll be in uncharted territory compared to previous seasons, as they might have to cash in on some regulars to make up for the Champions League prize money. They have looked good with a three-man line and should stick to it, which hinges on their call for the bench.
