He took to X following his brace and penalty miss at Carrow Road.

The Canaries took the lead early on, with Borja Sainz scoring a screamer in the ninth minute to put the hosts in the driving seat to win the game.

But Boro were able to respond, with Conway converting a cross to equalise before adding a second in the 40th minute to make it 2-1.

Finn Azaz scored from close range just before half-time to make it 3-1 - and it looked as though the Teesside outfit were going to take all three points back up north when they won a penalty with just over 20 minutes to go.

But George Long saved Conway's penalty - and that proved to be a sliding doors moment in the game.

Sainz scored just minutes after to make it 3-2 - and Seny Dieng's own goal in the 80th minute made it 3-3.

The Canaries had Kenny McLean sent off late on, but the hosts managed to hold on to a point in the end, and Boro will be extremely disappointed that they were unable to get the win in the end.

Michael Carrick's side, who have promotion dreams this term, will see this game as two dropped points and a setback, having had such a good chance to make it 4-1 to put the game out of reach of Johannes Hoff Thorup's men.

Tommy Conway's message to Middlesbrough supporters after eventful afternoon against Norwich City

Conway will be happy about the fact he was able to add a couple of goals to his tally for the season.

However, he may also be thinking about his penalty miss quite a lot, because that proved to be an important moment in the game.

Summing up an interesting afternoon in Norfolk, the Boro forward posted on X: "Mixed emotions with today’s performance. Massive thank you to everyone that travelled. ❤️"

Middlesbrough can count themselves unlucky after Norwich City draw

Boro were unlucky to be pulled back from 3-1 to 3-3.

The penalty wasn't the best and Conway would admit that, but Sainz's goal to make it 3-2 was a screamer and his first goal was brilliant too, with two unstoppable strikes leading to Carrick's men conceding twice.

The third Norwich goal was a freak one, with Dieng having to scramble across his goal to try and keep the ball out. Unfortunately, he was unable to in the end.

A point at Carrow Road isn't a bad outcome, but considering they had a golden chance to go 4-1 up, Boro will be gutted.

They will now be looking to respond to that and secure all three points in their next game against Coventry City.
