The New York Red Bulls will be making the short trip to Queens for the first Hudson River Derby fixture of the season on Saturday, and they could be doing so with a considerable addition to their available squad.
Influential winger Lewis Morgan has been upgraded to questionable (knee) on the MLS Player Availability Report for Matchday 14 for the first time since an injury picked up in training ruled him out for Matchday 2 in early March.
While the Scottish international almost certainly isn't 90 minutes fit, even a short spell from Morgan off the bench could prove valuable.
The 28-year-old had 13 goals last season, and a career-best 14 during the 2022 campaign as the Red Bulls earned a home playoff match in the league's previous single-elimination format.
If Morgan could come off the bench and find the net against NYCFC, it would be one of the more famous goals in the Hudson River Derby, and his first ever in the fixture.

Reigning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Kristijan Kahlina is questionable for Charlotte's home tilt against the Chicago Fire amid a rough run of form for manager Dean Smith's group.
Kahlina has kept five clean sheets so far in his third MLS campaign, and at one point this season was among the league leaders in that category.
But The Crown have now lost four in a row in the league, with Kahlina allowing 10 goals on 6.6 post-shot expected goals.
If Kahlina doesn't play, it will be the first league fixture he's missed since April of 2023.

Former U.S. men's national team starter Zack Steffen was thought to be playing himself back into contention for the job earlier this season.
Now he joins Kahlina among 'keepers whose form has regressed recently, and might now miss out on Matchday 14.
Steffen has allowed exactly two goals in each of his previous six starts. Unlike Kahlina's case, that more or less matches Colorado opponents' post-shot xG numbers.
