AC Milan are set to meet with the City Council this evening to discuss the current stadium situation, and there are a few things on the agenda.
The stadium debacle is likely to keep going for a while longer yet, especially with Inter and Milan sending a letter of interest about San Siro. It is never that simple, though. In fact, the Rossoneri had previously stated their wishes to include a clause within the deal regarding San Donato, suggesting they were not 100% committed to the plans.
At the start of the year, the Diavolo had the same stance, originally against the renovation of San Siro before the possibility of a U-turn arose. Whilst it didn’t finalise, it once again suggests that the club are not fully assured of their current position regarding the stadiums.
Nevertheless, they are still engaging in discussions for both situations and this evening Milan will have a meeting with the City Council about their project in San Donato, and the possibilities of a new stadium in the area.
As Milan News reports, there are two items on the agenda:
➤ A motion to request a consultative survey addressed to citizens for the evaluation of the A.C. Milan stadium project on the ‘San Francesco’ area presented by Councillor Forenza;
➤ Urgent motion with the Government of the Territory area, San Francesco intervention of urban transformation of sporting character (AC Milan Stadium) with supra-municipal relevance – Suspension of Programme Agreement presented by Councillors Ginelli, Falbo, Sinatori, De Simoni, Papetti, Forenza.
The outcomes of both items will be hugely important for the future of the Rossoneri’s project, given it focuses on the residents and surrounding area.
