Moises Caicedo is blossoming this season. After a difficult first year at Chelsea where he had a tough time settling in, he’s found his feet and is up there with the best midfielders in Europe, let alone the Premier League.
Off the pitch things are going great too. He recently became a father for a the first time, and that was the main subject of his very sweet interview with the official Chelsea website. He actually puts a lot of his current good form down to his happiness and contentment with family life:
“It’s been really good. I’ve enjoyed it a lot, on and off the pitch, with my family, with my team-mates. I’m doing well, and when you are doing well… I go home and I just smile, you know? I’m so happy,” the former Brighton man said.
“It’s a good feeling when you are doing well in your job and at home also. But every game I try to show even more. That’s why I’m working harder.”

Now Caicedo needs a new aim – winning trophies. For a player as good as him, that’s essential. He’s an untouchable for Enzo Maresca and a key player for his national team. He can cement his status as one of the world’s best by earning medals like some of the Chelsea greats who came before him in the midfield engine room.
“No,” he replies when compared to the likes of Claude Makelele and N’Golo Kante.
“They won a lot of things for Chelsea, and I didn’t do anything yet. But they did a lot of things, so I just try to watch some videos of them, to learn how they played midfield and a bit of their personality. And I think I’m doing well, but they did a lot here. For sure, I didn’t do anything yet. But I want to reach what they achieved.”
