With just one-year remaining on his current deal at AS Monaco, Willem Geubbels (21) is set to depart the Principality club this summer with clubs in the Netherlands and in Switzerland interested, according to L’Équipe.
Geubbels arrived in Monaco for €25m (bonuses included) from Lyon in 2018, but the Frenchman has since been hampered by injuries. He has only made 17 appearances for Monaco, although last season whilst on loan at FC Nantes, he did manage to string together a run of games injury-free.
During his time with Antoine Kombouaré’s side, he featured 26 times and scored three goals. However, despite only just returning to Monaco this summer, the club are looking to move him on and garner a fee for a player who would otherwise leave on a free next summer.
Monaco want €2m for the player, who is interesting clubs in Switzerland and the Netherlands, although the club do also want a percentage of his resale value.
