Monza 0-2 Milan Primavera: Scotti wondergoal seals the deal for Rossoneri | OneFootball

Milan Primavera clinched three important points in their game against Monza this afternoon, now just five points away from first place in the standings. Matteo Dutu and Filippo Scotti were the big heroes in the second half.

Federico Guidi and his players managed to build on their 4-2 win against Sassuolo earlier this week, putting in a strong performance against Monza. Granted that the latter have been struggling at the bottom of the standings, it was still very important for the Rossoneri who prevailed 2-0.

Milan had a big chance to take the lead just seven minutes into the game as Filippo Scotti played the ball to Adam Bakoune on a counter-attack. The full-back then picked out Alessandro Bonomi in the box, but the finish wasn’t good enough and the goalkeeper was able to make the same.

Guidi’s boys continued to dominate but had to wait until the 55th minute to break the deadlock, as Victor Eletu found Matteo Dutu with a lovely corner. The centre-back made no mistakes with the header.

Monza had a couple of opportunities to equalise but instead of that, Scotti took matters into his own hands as he drove forward from the halfway line and found the back of the net with a lovely finish. This was in the 86th minute, sealing the deal for Milan.

The team will now have a Christmas break, with the return scheduled for January 4 as they will take on Lazio.
