Seoul Salvage Point with Lingard & Moon Seon-Min Heroics

FC Seoul halted their concerning run of form with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against FC Anyang in Tuesday's K League 1 clash at Anyang Stadium.

Late Equalizer Rescues Seoul

After falling behind to Matheus Oliveira's 52nd-minute strike, Seoul's inspired substitutions proved decisive when Moon Seon-Min converted from Jesse Lingard's assist in the 81st minute to secure a valuable point.

The result ends Seoul's three-match losing streak but extends their winless run to five games, leaving them ninth in the table with 13 points from 11 matches. Meanwhile, Anyang remain in the mid-table battle, occupying sixth position with 15 points.

Physical Encounter

The match was a physical affair with six yellow cards shared equally between the teams. First-half cautions for Ryu Jae-Moon and Yazan Alarab highlighted Seoul's defensive struggles, while Anyang's Lee Chang-Yong and Kim Young-Chan were booked after the break.

Thomas Oude Kotte, one of Anyang's January signings, made his presence felt by providing the assist for Oliveira's opener. The Brazilian forward finished clinically to give the home side a deserved lead.

Tactical Chess Match

Kim Gi-Dong's Seoul have been plagued by midfield injuries in recent weeks, with Willyan sidelined and others struggling for fitness. The manager's decision to start Lingard on the bench proved inspired, as the Englishman's introduction changed the game's dynamic.

"Our overall performance hasn't been bad despite our scoring difficulties," Kim had said pre-match. "Starting Lingard from the bench was strategic with our busy schedule in mind."

The capacity crowd at Anyang Stadium created an electric atmosphere, with the fixture carrying extra significance due to historical connections between the clubs dating back to 2004.

Substitution Impact

Both coaches utilized their benches effectively, with Seoul making four changes and Anyang responding with substitutions of their own. However, it was Seoul's introductions that proved decisive.

Moon Seon-Min, a January arrival from Jeonbuk Motors, demonstrated his value with a well-taken equalizer after linking up with Lingard, who has been working his way back to full fitness.

The draw represents a fair result in a contest where both teams showed moments of quality without being able to secure all three points.

Seoul will look to build on this result when they travel to face Daejeon Citizen in their next fixture, while Anyang host Daegu FC as they aim to continue their solid home form.
