On International Women’s Day – celebrated across the globe today, 8 March – Juventus reaffirms its commitment to the growth of women’s football by focusing on the next generation. Over the past ten years, the Club has been building a clear path for young female athletes, transforming the football landscape, and setting new standards for the development of young female players.

Since launching its women’s youth football program, Juventus has expanded its youth sector from Under-10s to Under-19s, with the player base growing sixfold. With teams competing at the highest levels, the Club provides a competitive and supportive environment, preparing players for the future. Each year, around 20 Juventus players on average earn national team call-ups across the U16-U19 age groups, while another 20 players gain experience on loan at Serie A and Serie B clubs.

In contrast to the statistics – research shows that around 50% of girls quit sports by age 15 due to academic pressure, body image concerns, and a lack of role models – Juventus is committed to increasing grassroots entry points and ensuring long-term participation. By expanding youth programmes and increasing visibility for women in football, the Club is working to keep more girls in the game.

To celebrate International Women’s Day this year, the spotlight is shone on Juventus Women’s player Lisa Boattin, who is photographed in the locker room alongside two young players from the youth sector (U-11 and U-13), embodying her role as an inspiration to the next generation. As a young girl, Lisa’s love for football and Juventus shaped her journey, and today she continues to inspire young players with the very same passion and dedication.

“As a big Juventus fan, playing with this jersey has always been a dream for me,” Lisa says. “Added to this is also the pride of being part of a club that is really doing so much for women's football and for the new generation of young female footballers. Thanks to the daily work and growth in a professional and well-organized environment, the girls in our youth sector today can try from an early age to achieve the same dream as me, something that was unthinkable for me at their age.”

To emphasise and continue in its mission on this important date, Juventus has once again teamed up with women's football community and media brand INDIVISA for a special episode of the podcast More Women in Football: Juventus x INDIVISA. Created to inspire future generations of girls who love this sport, the episode features Juventus Women’s player Hanna Bennison in conversation with sports presenter Sirayah-Shiraz Koraltan, highlighting the challenges and triumphs of a professional football career.

Juventus and INDIVISA remain committed to creating opportunities and visibility for women in football, ensuring that more women at all levels have the space to grow and thrive.
