Moretto: Discussions ‘continue’ about Gimenez between Milan and Feyenoord – the request | OneFootball

Feyenoord are trying to keep hold of Santiago Gimenez, however, the timing that they would like to keep him for may have slightly changed in AC Milan’s favour.

This mercato has been one of direction and opportunity. As Zlatan Ibrahimovic revealed this afternoon, the decision to sign Kyle Walker was an opportunity, rather than an objective. However, an attacking signing is a desire.

Gimenez is clearly the main target, as has been heavily reported in recent days, and Milan are trying to work out if a transfer is feasible. Discussions have taken place in recent days, and there is a growing possibility of a move with the Rossoneri making two offers until now.

Furthermore, as added by Matteo Moretto, talks are continuing between the clubs as there seems to be an opening from Feyenoord after all. An ‘Arab club’ has also probed the ground, but the Mexican has given full priority to a move within Europe to make the big leap in his career.

That being said, the Dutch side want to have Gimenez at their disposal for the decisive Champions League clash against Lille on Wednesday. This suggests that they are willing to part ways with their star this window, even if not right now.
