Reports in Italy claim Edin Terzic and Maurizio Sarri are the leading candidates to replace Paulo Fonseca at Milan if the Portuguese is fired and according to Gazzetta, even David Moyes has been offered to the Rossoneri.
Milan are expected to sack their coach, Fonseca, if they lose against city rivals Inter on Sunday.
Gazzetta and other media outlets, including Sky Sport Italia, confirm that the Portuguese tactician is under scrutiny at San Siro and that a defeat in the derby della Madonnina on Sunday would cost him the job.
Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio confirms that Milan directors have already contacted ex-Borussia Dortmund coach Terzic.
The 41-year-old was at San Siro on Tuesday for Milan-Liverpool, but his presence at the stadium was not necessarily related to the latest transfer speculation.
According to Gazzetta, ex-Lazio, Napoli, and Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is another leading candidate for the role.
Sarri has been without a club since March and said in a recent interview that he wanted to return to the dugout before January 2025.
Thursday’s printed edition of Gazzetta on page 25 claims that even Moyes, a former West Ham and Manchester United coach has been offered to Milan through his agents, but the Serie A giants will probably look to other candidates.
According to Sky Sport, Thomas Tuchel and Massimiliano Allegri are also among the Rossoneri’s options for replacing Fonseca.
Allegri has already coached Milan, winning the Serie A title in 2011.
