On-loan Barcelona youngster Álex Valle has early this week provided an insight into his plans for the future.
Defender Valle for his part sealed an exit from Catalunya’s capital during the summer, taking his talents to Scottish champions Celtic for the duration of the campaign.
The Spaniard has not always found game time easy to come by, but has largely impressed during the playing time he has been afforded, to the tune of four assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.
His deal with Celtic does not include an option to buy, meaning, as things stand, Valle is due to return to base with Barcelona in the summer of 2025.
Fresh off securing the first piece of silverware of his fledgling career in the Scottish League Cup over the weekend, the left-back, in turn, sat down for an interview with Cadena SER on Monday.
During as much, the subject of his future was inevitably put to Valle.
And, in quotes gathered by Mundo Deportivo, the 20-year-old went on to hint that he would be keen to carve out a place for himself back in Barcelona:
“Barça has always been my home. This would be my eleventh season, so I have a special affection for it. In the end, there are circumstances in football and everyone does what they can. I am very grateful for everything that has happened to me and is happening to me in life. I continue with the present and enjoy it, whatever happens next will be what has to happen.”
