FC Lorient will be preparing for a mass exodus this summer, following their relegation to Ligue 2. One player that will be permitted to leave is Montassar Talbi (26). According to a report from Ouest-France, FC Nantes are interested in signing the Tunisian international from their Breton rivals.
Les Merlus almost pulled off a great escape on the final day of the Ligue 1 season but Régis Le Bris’ men will instead be playing their league football in France’s second tier next season. Talbi, who arrived at Lorient two seasons ago, will therefore be allowed to leave the club, despite possessing a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.
The former Rubin Kazan defender is eliciting interest, both domestically and abroad. Nantes, who secured their place in Ligue 1 for next season, are set for a large-scale squad overhaul and are interested in Talbi. Torino and Porto are also interested in the Tunisian international.
