Antonio Conte’s Napoli will reportedly prioritise reinforcements in defence in the January transfer window, targeting a centre-back and a right-back.

Napoli have had a strong start to the season collecting 29 points in 13 Serie A matches, one more than Atalanta, Fiorentina, Lazio and defending champions Inter.

Early signs suggest that new summer signings have settled in well.

Romelu Lukaku has already grabbed five goals and four assists, and Scott McTominay has never been subbed off and has already contributed to four goals.

Alessandro Buongiorno has impressed at the back, where Napoli reportedly plan to bring January reinforcements.

The lack of rotations and the desire to rejuvenate part of the team, in fact, seem to have convinced the club to look for new defensive signings in the winter transfer window.

Rafa Marin and Juan Jesus have been nowhere near competing for the starting spot, and the 33-year-old Brazilian could leave in January, six months before the end of his contract.

According to TMW, the ideal replacement for Juan Jesus would be a left-footed centre-back. Napoli are also considering signing a new right-back as a backup for Giovanni Di Lorenzo.
