Napoli are ready to bring in some surgical reinforcements in January to fuel their title ambitions, but they might be forced to wait for two of their young targets, Ange-Yoan Bonny and Patrick Dorgu. Parma and Lecce don’t want to sell them midseason in order not to hurt their chances of avoiding relegation, Sky Italy reports (via Tuttomercatoweb).
Antonio Conte was spotted whispering something in the Lecce starlet’s ear at the end of the recent clash between the two sides. A couple of English powerhouses are eyeing him too. It’ll take a fat check to convince the Salentini. They would rather wait until next summer. The Parma center-forward is tailor-made to back up Romelu Lukaku.
In addition to Bonny and Dorgu, Napoli have been linked to some veterans from aboard, for instance, Ben Chilwell. The Partenopei are open to any solution. They will wait in the wings to see whether some Premier League players grow discontent with their lack of minutes and want out in the next couple of months.
The Azzurri were highly satisfied with the business they conducted in England over the summer. They acquired Scott McTominay and Billy Gilmour. They have fared impeccably when called upon.
Lukaku won’t need to rest much this campaign, and they seem to like Giovanni Simeone as his no.2, so the former is more of a target for the summer. Any side could use the Lecce prodigy. While Parma have a wealthy ownership, a €30/40M offer would be a boon and a transformation figure for Lecce. A big bid could easily make them change their stance, also because a potential relegation could hurt his value.
