At the same time, the Partenopei are ready to send their second-choice keeper, Caprile, to Cagliari on an initial loan deal with an option to buy for €8m.

Caprile, a former Empoli goalkeeper, will be replaced by Cagliari’s Scuffet at the Stadio Maradona.

Italian media have yet to specify the transfer formula for Scuffet, but Napoli and Cagliari are expected to finalise the agreement soon.

Scuffet has lost his starting spot at Cagliari but has made 14 appearances across all competitions this term.
