Middlesbrough target Jørgen Strand Larsen has publicly asked his current club Groningen to better take care of his current situation, whilst in conversation with ESPN.
Boro have reportedly tabled a £9 million offer for the 22-year-old, as per a report from Norwegian outlet TV2.
Chris Wilder is looking to bolster his attacking options at the Riverside Stadium, however, the Northern Echo claim that Boro will walk away from this deal if the initial fee is not accepted.
Speaking to ESPN (as cited by the Northern Echo) about his current situation following Ajax’s 6-1 thrashing of Groningen, the young forward said in response to whether €10 million should be enough for his transfer, he said: “Yes, to be honest.

“When I came to the club, there was a goal to get as much as possible out of me as possible but now there is really serious offers on the table. I think the club needs to handle the situation better but also for my career.”
The verdict
Larsen joining Boro is an exciting possibility, with the Teesside club certainly in need of bolstering their forward options as they look to be competitive in this season’s Championship.
The young forward returned an impressive 14 goals in 32 appearances last time out, proving to be a consistent scorer of goals at such a young age.
Evidently frustrated about how his situation is being handled, it does appear that Larsen is also excited about potentially joining up with Chris Wilder and Boro as they look to challenge for promotion.
It remains to be seen how this situation plays out, and should Groningen continue to hold a high valuation, Wilder will start to look at other targets.
