Ahead of the season, many Celtic supporters would have believed that Greg Taylor would be their day-in, day-out left-back option after coming over from Kilmarnock in early September.
However, all has not went to plan, as Taylor has only made 10 appearances all season, generally serving as a back-up behind Jonny Hayes and the surprising Boli Bolingoli.
Taylor is under contract until 2023 and manager Neil Lennon believes that the best is yet to come from the Scotland international.
“Greg’s on a long-term contract, and he will be here long-term. He’s in a squad that’s very high calibre, and he’s working away,” Lennon told STV’s YouTube channel.
“He’s had a few opportunities, he’s done absolutely fine, and we went more from as he goes along, to the point where hopefully he’ll be a first-team regular going forward.”
Taylor has not featured in any of Celtic’s last four games but should be in the 18 for Saturday’s clash with Aberdeen.
