Netherlands EURO 2024 Duo Return To Training For Inter Milan | OneFootball

Netherlands internationals Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij are making their returns training for Inter Milan today.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that the Nerazzurri’s squad is now virtually complete.

Inter’s preseason has now been ongoing for three weeks.

The Nerazzurri have been working in training to get ready for next season. The start of the campaign is just two weeks away now, with the Serie A season kicking off with a match against Genoa.

Aside from working in training, Inter have also played four friendly matches so far.

The Nerazzurri beat all of Lugano, Pergolettese, and Las Palmas. Yesterday evening they drew against Pisa.

There are two more friendly matches to come, against the likes of Al-Ittihad and Chelsea.

Dumfries & De Vrij Back In Training For Inter Milan

The full Inter squad has not been at the disposal of coach Simone Inzaghi right away, though.

This has been the result of absences due to players having extended vacations following international duty between the Euros and the Copa America.

Therefore, the players have been filtering in over the past few weeks. Their arrivals have been based on how late into the summer they were in action with their national teams.

The furthest that any Inter players went at the Euros was the semifinal stage.

French duo Marcus Thuram and Benjamin Pavard reached that stage with Les Bleus, going out to eventual winners Spain.

Thuram and Pavard were back in training yesterday.

And today, the two Dutch internationals in Inter’s squad make their return to training.

Wingback Dumfries and defender de Vrij both started for the Netherlands throughout the Euros. They both started in the semifinal match, where England eliminated the Oranje.

Therefore both Dumfries and de Vrij enjoyed extended holidays after the tournament. But now they’re getting back to work for Inter.
