This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They anticipate that the Dutchman will start against Lazio on Monday.
Inter wingback Dumfries was one of a handful of absences during Tuesday’s Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen.
The 28-year-old did not travel with the rest of the squad to Germany for the match.
The reason for Dumfries being out was not an injury. Rather, he had fallen ill with flu-like symptoms, including a fever.
Dumfries has spent the past couple days recovering from his illness.
And according to the Gazzetta, the process of the Dutchman’s recovery has been swift.
Dumfries is already back in training with the rest of the squad today, the Gazzetta reports.
Therefore, Dumfries will be available for the team’s next match. Inter take on Lazio in Serie A on Monday.
Moreover, the Gazzetta report, Dumfries will regain his place in the starting eleven against the Biancocelesti.
That will mean that Matteo Darmian drops to the bench after having started against Leverkusen.
