Manchester United are yet to sanction any substantial business heading into the final fortnight of the transfer window.

That could all be about to change in the coming days, however.

In regards to outgoings, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford still face uncertain futures after being linked with numerous clubs in recent weeks. The former has been the subject of a rejected £40 million bid from Napoli, while the latter is hoping Barcelona can free up enough space on their wage list to facilitate his arrival on loan.

It was confirmed at the beginning of the week that Antony had agreed to spend the remainder of the campaign with Real Betis. There was no buy clause included in the prospective loan agreement, meaning he would return to Old Trafford in the summer in hopes of revitalising his stagnant United career.

Considering Fabrizio Romano had already given the ‘here we go’ treatment over the deal, it raised the eyebrows of supporters when they saw the Brazilian taking part in yesterday’s pre-Rangers training session at Carrington – given that he was on the verge of a move.

Yet, the reporter has disclosed this morning that even if Antony is involved in tonight’s Europa League fixture, he is still on track to depart United before the deadline.

Romano also added that the club will return with an improved proposal for Lecce fullback Patrick Dorgu, claiming there will be a ‘new bid from MUFC soon’, having failed with their opening £23m offer.

The 20-year-old has been identified as a suitable candidate to occupy the left wing-back role in Amorim’s newly implemented system amid Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui’s lacklustre form.
