Attacker Jonathan Rodríguez is in line to make his América debut at Monterrey on Saturday.
The Azulcrema’s star summer signing only arrived back in Mexico last week after a six-month stint with Saudi side Al Nassr.
He was not considered for Saturday’s Apertura opener against Atlas, with Las Águilas struggling to create and score chances in a 0-0 draw at the Estadio Azteca.
According to TUDN, however, ‘Cabecita’ is now “100% physically fit” and has played a full role in recent training sessions.
In addition to Roger Martínez, who has been ruled out for at least six weeks with a thigh problem, Salvador Reyes will also miss the trip to El Gigante de Acero.
América’s other two big recent arrivals, Néstor Araujo and Jürgen Damm, could feature in some capacity as Fernando Ortiz’s side look to register their first win of the campaign.
