The two sides were set to contest the tie at St Andrew’s on Sunday afternoon but Birmingham City have made the decision to move the game to Nuneaton as a result of the ongoing repair work at their usual home. The Blues announced the change of venue via a post on their official club website this evening.
The tie will now kick-off at 1pm with ticketing arrangements set to be announced by Birmingham City in due course.
The Barclays Women’s Championship club will go into the tie as the favourites to reach the fourth round. Birmingham City and Huddersfield Town are separated by 10 places in the footballing pyramid while the Blues operate on a full-time basis. Birmingham City have won their last two Barclays Women’s Championship games without conceding a goal.
Birmingham City were the 2012 Vitality Women’s FA Cup winners. The Blues defeated Chelsea 3-2 on penalties in the final at Ashton Gate following a 2-2 draw after extra-time. Darren Carter’s side will be hoping to make a positive start in this year’s competition against Huddersfield Town this weekend.
