Former Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is set to join New York Red Bulls in January as a free agent, according to Sky Sports in Germany.

The 35-year-old made 122 total appearances for the Bundesliga side since joining in 2020, scoring 38 goals, but his contract expired at the end of last season.

The report suggests that a medical has already been carried out and the deal agreed, with a two-year contract being offered by the MLS club.

Representing Cameroon at international level, Choupo-Moting has spent most of his career in Germany, having been born in Hamburg.

That's aside from a spell in England at Stoke City, and two years at PSG.
