The New York Red Bulls have completed the signing of 35-year-old striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, the club announced Wednesday.
The Cameroonian has been without a club since 2024 after departing Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich at the end of his contract, and will sign with the Harrison club through 2026, with an option for 2027.
Choupo-Moting has been a journeyman in European football, ploying his trade at seven different clubs across the continent over the last 17 years and scoring over 100 goals in that stretch.
“We are excited to add a player of Maxim’s caliber to our roster,” said NYRB Head of Sport Jochen Schneider.
“Maxim is a great player, a winner and his experience in Europe’s top leagues will be greatly important to our club in 2025 and beyond.”
The Red Bulls saw their 2024 campaign end in heartbreak with a defeat in the MLS Cup final to the LA Galaxy, but they appear determined to build on the momentum as they head into 2025.
