New Zealand international forward Hand joins Lewes | OneFootball

New Zealand international forward Jacqui Hand has agreed to join Barclays Women’s Championship club Lewes in the January transfer window.

The Rooks announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

Hand joins Lewes after most-recently turning out for Finnish club Åland United. She has also previously represented Auckland-based club Eastern Suburbs in her senior career to date.

The 24-year-old has been capped on 18 occasions by the New Zealand national team while she has scored two goals. She was a member of the New Zealand side which battled so bravely at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in the summer.

Hand will be hoping to add goals to new club Lewes’ forward line. The Sussex club are the lowest scorers in this season’s Barclays Women’s Championship after netting just seven goals in 11 games.

After sealing her move to Lewes, Hand said “I’m super-excited to be joining Lewes. My time with the team so far has been awesome, the girls and coaching staff have been very welcoming and I can’t wait to get started.”

Lewes are scheduled to return to action after the Christmas break on 21 January 2023 when they welcome Durham to The Dripping Pan for a Barclays Women’s Championship fixture.
