The winter transfer window has closed, and for now, Alexander Isak remains with Newcastle United. While there wasn’t much buzz about a move this winter, expect several clubs to revisit the possibility in the summer.

RMC Sport reported that PSG are preparing to offer Goncalo Ramos, Randal Kolo Muani, and Marco Asensio in a swap deal for Isak.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are eager to sign Isak as a future replacement for Robert Lewandowski, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Spanish side knows the Swedish forward is open to joining, but the deal would face a few hurdles.

Amid the transfer rumors, Newcastle chief executive Darren Eales has made it clear there are no plans to sell players like Isak this summer, as he revealed the club’s financial results for 2023-24, which show an improved outlook.

“The reality is that all of our players are under long-term deals,” Eales said (h/t CaughtOffside). “They’re committed to the club. So, from that perspective, we’re not looking to move any player on. We have no intention at all of those players being moved on.

Despite those comments, Sky Switzerland journalist Sacha Tavolieri previously reported that Liverpool are eyeing Alexander Isak ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Reds are reportedly in talks with Isak’s representatives about a potential move to Anfield and are preparing a significant offer for the “world-class” Sweden international.

Tavolieri also mentioned that Liverpool are willing to break from their usual transfer strategy and make a big splash to secure the 25-year-old forward this summer.

Newcastle are said to have set Isak’s asking price at €180 million (£150 million), which would make him Liverpool’s record signing, surpassing the £85 million they paid for Darwin Nunez in 2022.
