It is now ‘not certain’ that Newcastle United defender Lloyd Kelly will complete a loan move to Italian giants Juventus, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The Magpies have not backed Eddie Howe with new signings in the winter window, but players have left St James’ Park.
Miguel Almiron has left the club for Atlanta United but more departures could be on the cards before Monday night.
Bit-part versatile defender Kelly, who has not had many chances to play, could be one such name.
Multiple clubs, including Turin giants Juventus, are interested in him, and currently, they are waiting to hear from the Magpies regarding the deal payment terms.
Now it is suggested that Kelly’s exit to Turin is not certain to happen.
Even though he has not featured much, Newcastle would have next to no time to sign a replacement for Kelly, who can play either as a centre-back or a left-back.
All eyes are now on the Magpies to see if they will let Kelly leave if the Old Lady’s payment terms are close to what they want.
