Newcastle United could only revive their interest in Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the event of Callum Wilson leaving the Magpies, according to the Athletic.

The 27-year-old centre forward has been tipped to leave Goodison Park this summer, with several Premier League clubs showing interest in him.

Newcastle failed to agree personal terms with Calvert-Lewin, who has entered the final year of his contract with Everton.

It has been claimed that Newcastle will not pursue a deal for the Everton star unless Wilson leaves the St. James’ Park outfit this summer.

Wilson, who has one year left on his contract, has been heavily linked with a move out of Newcastle in the ongoing window.

However, despite the initial expectation Wilson would go, Newcastle are suggested to have decided to hold on to the 32-year-old veteran striker.

Calvert-Lewin has other admirers in the Premier League in the form of West Ham United and Brentford.

It remains to be seen whether Newcastle will receive a good enough offer for Wilson to let him leave and go after the Everton star this summer.
