Newcastle United host Fulham in the Premier League this weekend in their first fixture of February.
The fixture begins a crucial period for the Magpies, with important cup clashes and battles with Champions League rivals on the horizon.
Newcastle eased to a 3-1 win at Southampton last weekend with Alexander Isak on target twice. The Swedish striker extended his record to 13 goals in his last 10 league appearances for Eddie Howe’s side. Only Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland have outscored Isak this season.
Fulham arrive in the North East on a run of one win in five games. A disappointing defeat to Manchester United at Craven Cottage last weekend leaves the Cottagers 10th in the table.
Eddie Howe will decide whether to recall Nick Pope to his side after the goalkeeper returned to the squad as an unused substitute at Southampton. Pope has missed 11 games through injury, with Martin Dubravka impressing during Newcastle’s upturn in form.
Callum Wilson, Jamaal Lascelles and Harvey Barnes all remain sidelined for the Magpies, while Miguel Almiron has completed his transfer to Atlanta United. The Paraguay international returns to the MLS outfit after six seasons at St James’ Park.
Newcastle predicted XI: Dubravka; Livramento, Schar, Burn, Hall; Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Murphy, Gordon, Isak.
Newcastle host Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday February 1st 2025. Kick-off at St James’ Park is 15:00 GMT.
