After 20 months of waiting, Nico Castillo has finally made his official return to the pitch, although he now wears the Juventude shirt in Brazil.
The Chilean striker, who is on loan from América until the end of the year, was part of the Juventude side that lost 2-1 against Cuiabá on matchday 20 of the Brazilian championship.
Castillo entered the match in the 86th minute for Paulo Henrique, featuring for 11 minutes thanks to added time.
Castillo had not played an official game since January 18th, 2020, when he played 15 minutes in América’s 1-0 victory over Tigres.
Following his life-threatening thrombosis, he will hope to guide the newly-promoted Brasileirão side (currently in 14th) to safety or better yet, a place in the Copa Sudamericana.
