Super Eagles continue unbeaten start to AFCON qualifying campaign
Nigeria claimed a late win over Libya in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday.
The Super Eagles dominated almost the whole game but could not find a way through at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo but did not find a way through until the dying embers of the game.
William Troost-Ekong, Ademola Lookman and Alex Iwobi all missed good chances on a frustrating night for the hosts, though Fisayo Dele-Bashiru struck a late winner with around three minutes to go.
It means Nigeria remain unbeaten in their attempts to qualify for the AFCON next year, claiming seven points from a possible nine in Group D. They lead Benin by a point and will be confident about extending their lead when they travel to Libya on Tuesday.
Libya, meanwhile, already look as if they will be cut adrift after failing to win any of their opening three games.
