Eintracht Frankfurt have not received any offers for Omar Marmoush despite speculation linking the forward with the Premier League.
Marmoush has been named as a transfer target for several leading sides after an explosive start to the Bundesliga campaign. The Egyptian international has scored 13 goals and laid on seven assists in just 15 appearances, with only Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah directly involved in more goals across Europe’s top five leagues.
Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Liverpool have been named as potential suitors, while Manchester City have been heavily linked of late. The Citizens are considering options to alleviate the goalscoring burden on Erling Haaland at the Etihad. City sold Julian Alavarez and Liam Delap in the summer and lack an alternative to the Norwegian.
Marmoush is understood to be under consideration, though Sky Germany claim there has been no approach from the Premier League champions.
Frankfurt are reluctant to sell the 25-year-old in the January transfer window and would demand a fee in excess of £50m for their leading scorer. There has also been no indication from Marmoush that he wants to leave mid-season.
“There’s always a lot of speculation on the outside. But I don’t actually have a particular dream goal,” he told German publication Bild.
“What I can promise the fans is that I will give my all for Eintracht in every game. I am not thinking about a transfer. I am living in the here and now and enjoying my time in Frankfurt.
“Eintracht believed in me and put their trust in me. I want to repay that trust with good performances and goals. What happens in the distant future, however, doesn’t interest me.
“I want to continue to do my best so that at the end of the season we can say as a team: We have achieved something big.”
