Swindon Town and Bradford City served up an absolute classic — a mad 5–4 that’s already being called the game of the season in the EFL.

It was Jack Shepherd’s own goal deep into stoppage time that handed Ian Holloway’s Swindon all three points in a bonkers League Two clash that had a bit of everything.

Bradford flew out the traps, going 2–0 up inside ten minutes thanks to a quickfire brace from Calum Kavanagh. But things took a turn when Richie Smallwood was shown a straight red for a reckless challenge on Paul Glatzel — and from there, it all kicked off.

Kavanagh went on to complete his hat-trick before half-time, and Bradford were still 4–3 up heading into added time. But Harry Smith nodded in his second of the day at the far post to make it 4–4, and then came the heartbreaker — Shepherd’s mis-hit clearance ended up in his own net to seal a dramatic win for the Robins.

That late goal also made it 38 goals for Swindon in 2025 — more than any other team across 'The 92' league clubs since the turn of the year.

The win keeps Swindon flying, now unbeaten in 13 league home games — the longest run in League Two this season. As for Bradford, the loss sees them knocked off top spot, with Port Vale now leading the way.
