Manchester United have arrived at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and are undergoing their final preparations for this evening’s 8pm kick-off in the last Carabao Cup quarter-final.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United all advanced to the semis last night, meaning any potential route to the final, should the Reds win tonight, will be far from easy.

Fans will notice the absences of both Matthijs de Ligt and Marcus Rashford; the latter was sent home from training earlier this week with a temperature and did not travel down to North London, while the reason for De Ligt’s omission will likely be clarified by the boss in his pre-match media duties.

Teenage prospect Leny Yoro has been given the nod along with Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof, who has recently returned from another spell on the sidelines. Behind them is Altay Bayindir for just his fourth-ever United start since signing in September 2023.

Christian Eriksen makes his first appearance since the 1-1 draw away to Ipswich Town last month and is partnered with Manuel Ugarte, allowing Kobbie Mainoo some deserved rest.

Rasmus Hojlund leads the line after scoring five goals in Amorim’s first six matches in charge, with Bruno Fernandes deployed in the No.10 role behind him. Antony has also been named in the XI, having impressed with his recent substitute cameos against Viktoria Plzen and Manchester City.

As for the hosts, Ange Postecoglou’s firepower in attack will come from skipper Son Heung-min and Dominic Solanke, as well as James Maddison and Dejan Kuluveski in the middle of the park. The manager has trusted youngster Archie Gray, previously of Leeds United, to do the job from the get-go.
