Idah has sealed his long-touted move to Celtic this week, and his former teammate has responded to the Irishman's goodbye message on Instagram.
Adam Idah took to his Instagram account to pen a heartfelt goodbye message after his transfer to Celtic from Norwich City was completed this week, and his former Canaries teammate Gabriel Sara was among a host of players who took the chance to offer their thoughts.
Idah's Celtic transfer saga has been one that has rumbled on throughout the summer transfer window, but it finally came to an end on Wednesday, as the striker sealed a reported £9.5m move to the Scottish Champions.
The 23-year-old Irish international had reportedly made it clear that Celtic Park was where he wanted to call his permanent home, after a fruitful loan spell with the Glasgow giants last season.
Now he has his wish, and leaves Norwich after a five-year spell in the senior side at Carrow Road that saw him make 116 appearances in all competitions, scoring 17 goals.
Taking to his Instagram account after the move was confirmed, Idah posted a thank you message to Norwich City and it's staff, whilst wishing the club the best for the future.
Idah said: "Thank you, Norwich City! I joined the club as a boy & am leaving as a man.
Among those to offer their thoughts was midfielder Sara, a player who has already followed Idah out of Carrow Road this summer as Turkish side Galatasaray sealed a deal that could reportedly see the Canaries earn over £20m.
In response to Idah's post, Sara said: "All the best bro 👊🏽❤️." A host of his former teammates also took the chance to share their thoughts on Idah's move.
Whilst he proved that he's a quality centre-forward with the potential to score plenty of goals in the green and white shirt of Celtic, Idah's production as a Norwich player isn't irreplaceable.
Indeed, his best scoring season came last term, bagging seven goals in 34 appearances in all competitions. Prior to that, however, Idah hadn't scored more than three goals in all competitions in any individual season at Carrow Road.
Therefore, it's not unfair to say that Celtic are perhaps buying Idah's potential to produce goals rather than hard evidence, as despite a small sample size of strikes for the Hoops last season, goals have been sparse for a player that could cost up to £9.5m.
As such, selling Idah for that sort of money for what he's done in a Norwich shirt should be seen as a good deal for the club, and gives them a sizeable cash injection to go and secure his replacement should they wish.
Joshua Sargent has proven that he can score goals at Championship level, and pairing him up with another prolific forward could set Johannes Hoff Thorup's side up with a sharp cutting edge up-front.
With Jonathan Rowe looking destined for the exit door, whilst others could also leave this summer, it does feel like somewhat of a rebuilding year in Norfolk.
But with the transfer fees being suggested, the Canaries appear to be building a serious war chest to go to war with over the coming transfer windows, and should they spend that money wisely with the core of a talented side already in place, there could well be exciting times ahead for the football club.
