It looks as though there is still plenty to be decided for Norwich City on the final day of the January transfer window.

Going into deadline day, the club are yet to complete a single first-team signing in 2024.

Meanwhile, Adam Forshaw has left the club to join Championship rivals Plymouth Argyle on a permanent deal, while the likes of Archie Mair, Tony Springett and Jaden Warner have completed moves elsewhere on loan.

So with the Canaries currently tenth in the second-tier standings, three points off the play-off places, there will no doubt be some hope that more deals can be done, before the window closes.

With that in mind, we've taken a look at the latest updates to have emerged around Norwich City going into deadlinde day, right here.

One player who does look as though he is set to complete a move to Norwich, is Sydney van Hooijdonk.

The striker has struggled for opportunities since joining his current club Bologna in the summer of 2021, previously spending time out on loan elsewhere, and he now looks set to make a similar move before the window closes.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 23-year-old is set to join Norwich on loan with an option to buy, and with a medical and the signing of contracts due to have been completed on Wednesday, it may not be long until this signing is announced.

Idah set for Celtic loan

The seemingly imminent addition of van Hooijdonk also appears to have opened the door for another striker to leave Carrow Road before the window closes.

That comes in the form of Adam Idah, who has himself struggled for opportunities this season, starting just 12 Championship games, the last of which was on Boxing Day.

Reports from The Daily Record have claimed that the Republic of Ireland international is now set to join Scottish champions Celtic on a loan deal until the end of the season, in a move that could apparently also include an option to buy come the end of the season.

Jonathan Varane unlikely due to valuations

One target who it appears may not be making the move to Carrow Road before Thursday night's deadlinde, is Jonathan Varane.

Earlier in the window, it was reported that Norwich had made a €2.5million bid for the Sporting Gijon midfielder, amid interest from other clubs, including fellow Championship side QPR.

Now though, it appears that offer will not be enough, with Norwich City journalist Connor Southwell reporting that a deal to sign Varane appears unlikely that the midfielder will complete a move to Carrow Road, due to the fact that while he has been a target all month, the two clubs are too far apart when it comes to their valuations of the player.

Rowe looks set to stay at Norwich City

Jonathan Rowe has enjoyed an excellent breakthrough campaign with Norwich this season, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists across all competitions.

That has seen him attract plenty of attention from elsewhere during the January transfer window, with the likes of Aston Villa, West Ham and Lazio among those to have touted as potential suitors for the attacker.

However, according to Guardian journalist Ed Aarons, Rowe now looks set to stay at Carrow Road beyond the end of the window, despite that interest from elsewhere, in what feels like a major boost for Norwich's prospects for the remainder of the campaign.
