Famous Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano identifies two players who could leave Manchester United in the middle of the season, and neither is called Marcus Rashford.

The 27-year-old striker is seemingly on his way out of his childhood club after being omitted from the matchday squad for the club’s last three fixtures, with Ruben Amorim unimpressed with what he saw in training.

But while the Englishman may have already played his last match in the famous Red shirt, Romano names another two Man United stars who will be available on the transfer list come January. The players in question are Danish midfielder Christian Erkisken and Swedish defender Victor Lindelof.

“Eriksen and Lindelof are available for the January market, but at the moment there’s still nothing concrete. For sure both are players who could be available in January.” revealed the Italian in his newsletter for Give Me Sport.

The two Scandinavians are currently running on expiring contracts, so neither is likely to earn a new deal. Hence, if they don’t seal moves in January, they will most probably leave Carrington after seeing out their contracts at the end of the season.

Eriksen was a regular feature during Erik ten Hag’s reign at Old Trafford.  However, the 32-year-old struggled to cope with Amorim’s style, so the latter is currently favoring Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo in the double pivot, while Bruno Fernandes could also be an option for the deeper role, especially when Mason Mount is available to start as an attacking midfielder.

On the other hand, Victor Lindelof has never truly hit his stride since joining the Red Devils in 2017, and this season, he’s been dealing with constant physical issues, the latest ensuing during Thursday’s Carabao Cup defeat against Spurs.
