Having left for Beşiktaş last summer, Morocco captain Romain Saïss could be set for an early return to the Premier League after his six-year spell at Wolves, according to Foot Mercato.
The veteran defender – formerly of Clermont, Le Havre and Angers in France – impressed during the Atlas Lions’ World Cup campaign, and had attracted interest from both Saudi Arabia and Europe last January. Although he decided to stay in Istanbul – the team eventually finishing third in the Süper Lig – the opportunity for a move is once again set to emerge in the coming months.
In particular, both Nottingham Forest and Everton are looking to bring the 33-year-old back to England, with both clubs having narrowly avoided relegation last season. The Toffees are said to be particularly intent on reinforcing their defensive options this year, given how unreliable that department was this past campaign. Foot Mercato add that Saïss has also received a lucrative proposal from Qatar, while several French clubs are also keeping an eye on him.
